I used Superior King Tut thread in the setting triangles ( "Valley of the Kings) and Rheingold metallic gold everywhere else.
The batting is warm and natural ( her choice). The piping adds a really neat element, however it is a pain trying to quilt close enough to it.
All in all I am pleased with the way it turned out. The next one is already loaded, and I started the SID. This next one is also for the show at the end of the month. Very large...107" square, so it will take a while. But I have till the 15th!
We had one of our boys here visiting last week. We really enjoyed it. Though it was during a cold snap...but it was warmer than where he lives so it was OK.
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and that this new year will bring peace, happiness, health and prosperity to all.
Deb, it's beautiful! I'm lookig at that first photo - do you get to quilt on your patio?
ReplyDeleteDeb, you should take a few photos of your quilting room and show everyone how it opens up onto your lanai.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks great - I thought you were taking time for personal quilts??
BEAUTIFUL! and how may I ask does one pump out a show quilt in ONE DAY???
ReplyDeleteYour quilting is amazing! I particularly like the border treatment you did - really unique and so effective! Glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteIt was very small Gina. Only 40x48.
ReplyDeleteAnd she didn't want any micro work. And I did line dancing instead of SID. All those things speed up the process considerably.
